What to do Before Your Waxing Appointment

  • Take an Ibuprofen (no blood thinners as this will have an effect when waxing) one hour before
waxing to temporarily reduce pain and sensitivity if you are nervous.
  • Allow 3-4 weeks between waxes, to reduce pain; the longer the hair the more painful for
you. The hair should be a quarter of an inch (the size of a grain of rice) for best waxing results.
  • Notify the Waxpert™ if you are on any medications or skin products that contain AHA’s, glycolic, dermabrasions or peels.
  • Do not tan/spray tan within 24 hours of waxing service.
  • Avoid any caffeine or alcohol before waxing service as it can make your wax more painful.
  • Exfoliate the skin- this will give you the best results. We suggesting using our exfoliating gloves.
  • Keep skin hydrating- if your skin is dry you can lift. What is skin lifting? Skin lifting happens when both dead and live skin are pulled off with the wax, creating an abrasion similar to scraping one’s knee.
